PNMUK

Training

Our training is designed to equip registered nurses to serve confidently at the intersection of faith and health. With a strong theological foundation, practical tools, and ongoing supervision, we prepare nurses for a deeply impactful role in their communities. At PNMUK, training is more than a course—it’s the beginning of a supported journey.

Equipping

At Parish Nursing Ministries UK (PNMUK), we believe that when parish nurses are well-trained and well-supported, communities flourish. That’s why we offer comprehensive training and professional development designed specifically for the unique calling of parish nursing.

Whether you’re exploring Parish Nursing for the first time or looking to grow in your role, PNMUK is here to walk with you every step of the way.

What we offer

PNMUK offers specialised training and ongoing professional development for registered nurses exploring or serving in parish nursing roles. Our foundational course equips nurses to integrate spiritual care with clinical practice in a church and community context. We also provide regular opportunities for learning, connection, and support through retreats, webinars, and a national network of parish nurses.

Training

Foundational

Our foundational Parish Nursing Preparation Course is the gateway into this ministry. Designed for registered nurses, this course provides:

• A strong theological and biblical foundation for faith-based nursing

• Exploration of the distinctive role of a parish nurse within the local church

• Practical tools for setting up and sustaining a parish nursing service

• Guidance on working within the community and supporting spiritual health

The course is delivered by experienced trainers and includes reflective practice, peer discussion, and real-world case studies.

Ongoing Professional
Development

Learning doesn’t stop after the course. We’re committed to supporting parish nurses throughout their journey. PNMUK offers:

• Regular study days and retreats

• Specialist webinars on current health and spiritual care topics

• Access to a national network of parish nurses

• Resources for reflective practice and supervision

• Support from PNMUK staff and regional coordinators

This continued investment helps ensure that every parish nurse feels encouraged, equipped, and part of something bigger.

Supervision

We also offer supervision in practice, recognising how vital reflective support is in nursing roles. Our commitment to ongoing supervision ensures Parish Nurses are not only cared for in their work, but continually growing through insight, accountability, and encouragement.

Why are we proud of our training?
